The final event in the Formular One calendar, the the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is held annually at the famous 5.55 kilometre-long Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island. The Circuit boasts speeds of 195 kilometers per hour on average with maximum speeds of 320 kilometres per hour and has a total of 21 turns along the track making it one of the most challenging racing tracks in the world. It is also one of the few venues where the races are run in an anti-clockwise direction and boasts the world’s longest straight line racing track. Designed by renown Circuit architect Hermann Tilke, the Yas Marina Circuit runs past the newly- constructed marina and some of the city’s highest rated hotels including Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Yamm Villa Resort, Abu Dhabi.
The Yas Marina Circuit boasts a large, 60,000-seater grand-stand, a state-of-the-art lighting system that adjusts the track’s lighting for evening races and a pit building with 40 air-conditioned garages. Yacht-owners can enjoy close-up views of the races as racing cars speed along the tracks along the marina. When they are not watching the races, they can admire the famous five-star Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi hotel and the 60-metre solar powered Sun Tower before attending the star studded post-race parties and concerts on Yas Island.
