Catamaran Sailing in Maldives – Some slow paced adventure to brighten your holiday

A trip to Maldives is the only time we get to have a relaxing holiday since we globe trotters are always on the run wherever we may go! This was not our first time in the beautiful archipelago surrounded by the Indian Ocean but it was definitely a holiday we were looking forward to.

This trip was not about travelling within a budget; this is an actual ‘holiday’ so we planned to splurge on the accommodation since that’s the best part of a good vacation. After going through a list of Maldives Luxury Resorts we finally decided to make a reservation at the W Retreat & Spa Maldives. This was not your usual luxury hotel but seventy eight unique luxury villas making your tropical dreams come true. The resort was just perfect, ideal for relaxing, playing and refreshing the mind and body.

During the first couple of days all we did was eat, swim, relax and simply do nothing. But then we needed a boost or rather some excitement to spice up our holiday. After going through numerous information brochures we decided to take a Catamaran ride! It was not like the extreme adventure activities we’ve tried before but something exciting to lift our holiday spirits.

Sailing on a catamaran we were able to explore the numerous islands and reefs on the lush green waters of the Indian Ocean in total comfort. Sailing amongst the water was just magnificent and we were able to enjoy the slow pace of the island life.

Since we love any type of activity that can be done in water, we couldn’t resist diving and snorkeling once we reached a certain spot in the ocean. The underwater landscape was simply out of this world and it was one of the best snorkeling experiences I have had in a very long time.
